Doubles
  • Doubles play began with the Owls claiming the first match as Andrei Kougoucheff and Remi Chancerel bested Nicolas Guerschanik and Caspar Schuetze, 6-1.
  • Keiser received a big boost from the No. 2 doubles position as Julian Turosienski paired up with Romai Ugarte to upend Arthur Stefani and Stefan Burnett, 6-4.
  • The doubles point all came down to the final match between Shaquille Taylor and Francesco Oliva against Anthony Schohn and Alexander Gitin.
  • Taylor and Oliva held the 4-2 advantage with things looking bright for the Seahawks. However, the FAU duo fought back and won the next four games to claim the No. 3 doubles by the score of 6-4 to claim the lone doubles point.

  • The Owls extended their lead to 2-0 when Kougoucheff defeated Sebastian Penaloza, making his season debut for the Seahawks, in straight sets by the final score of 6-1, 6-0.
  • FAU then stretched its lead to 3-0 as Chancerel defeated Turosienski in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4.

  • Keiser claimed two of the final three matches, each in three sets, as Bonnaud remained undefeated after besting Stefani (3-6, 6-3, 7-6(10-8)) and Taylor downed Ignacio Jimenez (6-3, 1-6, 6-4).

Coach's Corner
"Today was a tough one to lose for sure," stated head coach Daniel Finn. "We were honestly in the match the entire way but the turning point for the match happened in the doubles point. We had our opportunities to take the doubles point and go up 1-0 heading into singles, but we couldn't convert. The only thing I can say is that the boys did fight very hard today. We saw where we need to get better and we will do so. Tomorrow is obviously going to be another big test for us as we face a very good Embry-Riddle team."

Up Next
The Seahawks will return to action tomorrow when Keiser travels to Daytona Beach, Fla., to take on NCAA Division II opponent and former Sun Conference foe, Embry-Riddle. The match is slated to begin at 3:30 p.m.
