The No. 4 ranked Keiser Seahawks cruises to the 9-0 sweep over Union College in the 2017 season opener. The Seahawks did not drop a single set in singles as Keiser improved to 2-0 all-time against the Bulldogs. The Seahawks now improve to 7-5 all-time in season openers.
 
Doubles

• Keiser jumped on the board early as Nicolas Guerschanik and Arthur Bonnaud made quick work of Egil Brudvik and Ethan Wright in the No. 3 doubles slot, 8-2.
• The Seahawks stretched their lead to 2-0 after the 12^th ranked doubles team of Julian Turosienski and Romai Ugarte defeated Ewan Mckinnie and Srdjan Trosic from the No. 1 spot, 8-4.
• Shaq Taylor and Francesco Oliva completed the doubles sweep over Borna Bartolovic and Tiago Gil, 8-4, to extend the Keiser lead to 3-0.

 
Singles

• Eighth-ranked Bonnaud quickly disbanded Brudvik from the No. 4 singles position, 6-1, 6-0, pulling Keiser to within one win of clinching the match.
• Turosienski provided the Seahawks with the clinching win from the No. 1 singles slot as the 19^th ranked freshman bested Trosic, 6-2, 6-0.
• Keiser did not let off the gas as the Seahawks won the final four singles matches, capped off by Oliva's straight-set victory over Gil (6-2, 6-1) to claim the match 9-0.

 
Coach's Corner
"The boys did a great job of controlling the intensity and energy today," stated head coach Daniel Finn. "We came out really focused from the start and it showed in the play. This was a very solid 9-0 win over a very good team today. We don't get much time to rest going into tomorrow with our conference opener against Southeastern. So there won't be time to rest on our laurels. We will need to bring the energy and intensity again tomorrow."
 
Up Next
The Seahawks will return to action tomorrow when Keiser welcomes the Southeastern Fire into town to open the conference season. The match will begin at 1 p.m. and will be played at Oxbridge Academy.
