The Keiser University men's soccer team dropped their first home game of the year to St. Thomas 7-1 in a non-conference game. The Seahawks drop to 2-3 overall and will look to rebound on Saturday when they travel to Ave Maria.
Turning Point
St. Thomas trailed the first 50 minutes of the game before Arthur Sharapov equalized the game at 1-1, beating
Lee Clark to the far post.
How it Happened
- Thomas Dawson started the scoring when he played a through ball to Amine Meski who beat the keeper on his second attempt, giving the Seahawks a 1-0 lead in the 23rd minute.
- St. Thomas scored the first of seven second half goals just five minutes into the half tying the game at 1-1.
- The Bobcats added a second goal just five minutes later on a diving header by Federico Moronell to take a 2-1 advantage.
- St. Thomas then tacked on goals in the 65th, 69th, 71st, and 75th minutess to lead 6-1.
- Reece Weldon had a penalty kick saved in the 79th minute and the Bobcats capped the scoring in the 84th minute to win the game 7-1.
