The Seahawks baseball team fought off elimination this afternoon defeating LSU Shreveport 9-2. Keiser advances to face Indiana Wesleyan in a second elimination contest this evening at 8:00 PM eastern time.
 

• The Seahawks threatened in the second with the bases loaded but were unable to push a run across keeping the game scoreless. However, Keiser got on the board in the third with three runs.
• Gabby Mundo was hit by a pitch to start the inning, Keivan Berges singled to short, and Jack Curtis was hit by a pitch, loading the bases with nobody out. Tyler Goff then plated a pair of runs with a single to right making it 2-0. Dylan Dore pushed the lead to 3-0 with a sacrifice fly to center.
• In the seventh with one out, the Seahawks loaded the bases and a sacrifice fly to left by Goff upped the advantage to 4-0.
• For the fourth time in the game, Keiser loaded the bases in the eighth with two outs but the Pilots were able to escape without allowing a run.
• The Seahawks then broke the game open in the ninth with five runs on RBI singles from Daniel Arroyo, Brad Myott, Danner, and Berges making it 9-0. LSU Shreveport pushed two runs across in the ninth but fell 9-2.
• Danner had a game high four hits, while Goff had three helping outhit the Pilots 11-5.
• Steven Bruce (9-0) held LSU Shreveport hitless for the first 5.2 innings and went on to throw 8.1 innings with six strikeouts.
