#12 Women's Tennis Blank Warner 9-0

The #12 Keiser University women's tennis team blanked Warner University 9-0 on Saturday afternoon in Sun Conference play. The Seahawks upped their winning streak to four matches and improved their record to 10-6 overall and 5-0 in conference play.

The Seahawks got off to a tremendous start as Ana Pinto and Juliana Goncalves won 8-0 at second doubles. The number one tandem of Teodora Stanciu and Lola Garcia rolled 8-2 upping the lead to 2-0. Laura Ortega and Livia Toth capped the doubles sweep with their 8-6 victory in the third spot.

Goncalves picked up where she left off in doubles, sweeping her singles match 6-0, 6-0 pushing the advantage to 4-0. Ortega then won 6-1, 6-2 to clinch the match for Keiser at 5-0.

Garcia was victorious shutting out her opponent 6-0, 6-0 and Pinto at #2 came from behind after dropping the first set 6-7(5) to win 6-2, 1-0 making it 7-0 in favor of the Seahawks. Stanciu at #2 went on to win 6-2, 4-2(ret) and Toth won 6-0, (ret) to seal the 9-0 victory for Keiser University.

Head Coach Daniel Finn said, "For the second straight day the ladies did a great job of bringing a lot of energy. I am really happy with the progression that the ladies have made so far this season. It is definitely great to be playing our best tennis at the most important time of the year. Next week will determine the conference champion so we will definitely to get to work this week and prepare. The ladies team is making me proud with the progression they are making."

The Seahawks return to action on Saturday when they travel to #4 SCAD for the Sun Conference championship. First serve is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
