The Keiser University softball team fell to St. Thomas in game one before game two was halted due to weather on Thursday afternoon. The Seahawks moved to 12-15 overall and 0-1 in Sun Conference play.
Game 1: St. Thomas defeated Keiser 4-3.
- The Bobcats plated a run in the first for a 1-0 lead before Keiser pushed two across in the third.
- Shanah Thomas singled to third, stole second and moved to third on a Heather Shapiro single to left. A squeeze bunt by Alyssa Cabral tied it at 1-1 and an RBI single to left by Cassidy Miller gave the Seahawks a 2-1 advantage. St. Thomas responded by scoring a run in the fourth knotting it at 2-2.
- In the fifth, a two out RBI double to right by Jarayca Baker plated C. Miller who singled to left, retaking a 3-2 lead. However, the Bobcats pushed two runs across in the seventh to win 4-3.
- C. Miller had a team high two hits. Allison Williams took the loss despite throwing a complete game.
The Seahawks led 3-1 in the fourth inning of game two when it was stopped due to lightning in the area.
Keiser returns home on Saturday, April 2nd when they welcome Ave Maria for a doubleheader. First pitch is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
