The #6 Keiser University men's tennis team fell to #3 Xavier 7-2 in an NAIA top ten matchup yesterday. The Seahawks saw their 11 match winning streak come to an end while suffering their first NAIA loss of the year.
The Gold Rush swept all three doubles points but not without a battle at the #3 spot where
Nicolas Guerschanik and
Shaquille Taylor fell in a tiebreaker 9-8.
Xavier extended the advantage to 5-0 before
Arthur Bonnaud won the first singles point at #4 6-1, 6-1 and Taylor was victorious at #5 2-6, 7-5, 1-0 (3) getting to within 5-2.However, the Gold Rush took the next two points to win 7-2.
The Seahawks get back in action on Saturday when they travel to Southeastern for an 11:00 a.m. game.
