The #11 ranked Keiser women's tennis team routed NCAA Division 2 Southern New Hampshire University 9-0 on Tuesday afternoon in Orlando.
The Seahawks got off to a quick start by sweeping all three doubles to take a 3–0 lead going into singles. Doubles had one scare at #3 with
Samantha Guy and
Livia Toth rallying from 4-1 down to come away with an 8–6 victory and a 1-0 advantage. The number #1 pair of
Teodora Stanciu and
Lola Garcia won 8-4 and #2 doubles of
Ana Pinto and
Laura Ortega rolled 8-1 making it 3-0.
Garcia at #5 would be the first one off the court winning 6–0, 6–0, pushing the margin to 4-0. Guy was victorious 6–1, 6–1 at #3, clinching the match for the Seahawks. Toth blanked her opponent 6-0, 6-0 at #6 and Stanciu won 6-3, 6-0 in dominating fashion to extend the lead to 7-0. Ortega at #1 singles cruised to a 6-3, 6-2 win and Pinto rallied from a 5-1 deficit in the first set to cap off the day with a 7-5, 6-2 win for Keiser.
