The Keiser University softball team dropped a pair of games to Grand View on Sunday afternoon. The Seahawks fell to 12-14 overall on the year.
Game 1: Grand View defeated Keiser 2-0
Game 2: The Vikings defeated the Seahawks 6-5
- Grand View jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first before the Seahawks got on the board in the second on a solo homer by Jaryaca Baker to center field making it 4-1.
- In the fifth, Alyssa Cabral was hit by a pitch to lead off and advanced to second a wild pitch. An S. Thomas sacrifice bunt moved her to third and a Shapiro RBI single to center got Keiser within 4-2.
- Avery Miller singled and Stormy Stokes was hit by a pitch and a sacrifice bunt moved them up a base in the sixth. Two straight fielding errors allowed the Seahawks to take a 5-4 advantage.
- The Vikings plated a run in the seventh to tie the game at 5-5 and then won it in the ninth with a walk off at 6-5.
- Tyler Thomas had a team high two hits. Riley Caylor started the game and went three innings.
Keiser gets into Sun Conference play on Friday when they travel to Thomas University for a 1:00 and 3:00 p.m. contest.
