The #3 seed Keiser University men's basketball team fell to the top overall team in the tournament Saint Francis 80-53 in the NAIA quarterfinals on Saturday afternoon. The Seahawks conclude the year with a 30-5 overall record and a Sun Conference regular season championship.
How it Happened- St. Francis led 19-8 when an Andrija Sarenac jumper started a 9-0 run getting to within 19-17 with 8:14 left in the first half. However, the Cougars responded by outscoring the Seahawks 23-5 to take a 42-23 advantage into the break.
- The Cougars extended their lead to 52-29 at the 14:51 mark of the second when a Brice Jenkins bucket sparked a 6-0 run that turned into an 11-2 stretch getting to within 54-40 with 11:29 left in regulation. Unfortunately, Keiser was unable to get any closer and went on to fall by a final of 80-53.
