The #7 ranked Keiser University men's tennis team cruised to a 7-2 win over NCAA Division 3 Babson College on Saturday afternoon.
The day started quickly as
Ignacio Osse and
Julian Sarrion rolled to an 8-0 win at #3 doubles to give the Seahawks an early 1-0 lead. Then #2 doubles of
Rafael Lenz and
Arthur Bonnaud fell behind 3-1 early before rallying to win an 8–4 and stretch the lead to 2-0.
Martin Martins and
Luis Sanchez led early at #1 doubles but eventually fell 8-5 to give Babson a point getting to within 2-1 heading into singles play.
Osse rolled to a 6-1, 6-1 victory at #6 singles, extending the lead to 3-1, and Bonnaud won 6-2, 6-1 to put the boy within one from clinching.
Lenz then clinched the match for Keiser with a 6-2, 6-4 win at #3 singles and
Shaquille Taylor wouldn't waste much time either winning 6-1, 6-1 at #5 singles pushing their advantage to 6-1.
Guerschanik was the only Babson victim on the day as he fell 6-4, 2-6, 1-0(7) at #1 singles cutting the deficit to 6-2. However, Martins at #2 won 6-4, 7-5 to seal up the 7-2 victory for the boys.
