The Seahawks softball team swept a doubleheader against Indiana University Southeast on Saturday morning. Keiser moved back to .500 on the year with a 5-5 overall record.
Game 1: The Seahawks defeated Indiana University Southeast 4-3.- The Grenadiers took a 1-0 lead in the third on a two out RBI single to center field.
- Taylor Beckman led off the bottom half with a single to center and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt by Avery Miller. A single by Shanah Thomas and a throwing error by the shortstop allowed Beckman to score tying it at 1-1.
- Indiana Southeastern regained a 3-1 advantage in the fifth on a two out two run homer to centerfield.
- In the fifth with one out, S. Thomas reached on a single to center and moved to second on a throwing error. Heather Shapiro followed with an RBI double to left center cutting the deficit to 3-2. An RBI single to right field by Alyssa Cabral knotted it at 3-3 and a Meagan Flores triple to right field put the Seahawks back ahead 4-3.
- Shapiro and S. Thomas led the way with two hits apiece.
- Allison Williams moved to 2-1, pitching 2.1 innings of relief, allowing no runs on one hit.
Game 2: Keiser walked off with a 7-6 win over the Grenadiers - Indiana Southeast got on the board in the second with two runs on an RBI single to right field making it 2-0.
- Jaryaca Baker led off the second with a single to right field and moved to third on a sacrifice bunt by Cabral. Stormy Stokes pushed Baker across with an RBI single to center getting to within 2-1.
- The Grenadiers got the run back in the third on a two out single to left field pushing back out to a 3-1 advantage.
- Back to back walks with two outs in the third led to a three run homer to right center by Baker retaking a 4-3 advantage.
- Keiser started the fourth with two straight singles and an RBI single to center by Shapiro pushed the lead to 5-3. The Seahawks then loaded the bases with one out and Cassidy Miller upped the advantage to 6-3.
- Indiana Southeast platted three runs in the seventh tying the game at 6-6.
- In the bottom half, a hit by pitch to Baker led off the inning and moved to second on a Cabral sacrifice bunt. A single to right by Aquaria Baines put runners on the corners  with two outs.S. Thomas then won it for the Seahawks with a walk off RBI single to third.
- Four players led the way with two hits, while Baker had three runs batted in.
- Nicole Granitto picked up the win, while Riley Caylor struck out two in the start.
Up NextKeiser returns to action tomorrow taking on Cumberland at 10:30 and Middle Georgia at 12:30. The games will be played at the Randy Larson Softball Complex, 1500 S. Park Rd, Plant City Florida.
