Highlights
Fourth-seeded Keiser Volleyball dropped the 3-1 decision to top-seeded Webber in the Sun Conference semifinals on Friday night in Babson Park, Fla. The Seahawks claimed the first set of the match but then fell in three consecutive frames to the Warriors. Nikki McKown finished the game with a team-high 14 kills and recorded 10 digs for another double-double. Nicole Papineau finished with a team-high 34 assists, while Morgan Leff finished the contest with 18 digs to lead Keiser in the category.
 
How it Happened
Set One:
Keiser claimed the first set by the final of 25-18 after a quick start in which the Seahawks claimed the first six points, led by Veera Hietala, Megan Minke and Nikki McKown. Keiser stretched its lead to 12-4 following a kill by Chantelle Zamora and a service ace by Morgan Leff. Webber stormed back late in the set, cutting the Keiser lead to just one after a kill by Carlee Baxter. The Seahawks rebounded by outscoring Webber 7-1 over the final eight points to seal the seven-point first-set victory.
 
Set Two:
Webber rebounded with an eight-point second set victory to even the game at 1-1. Keiser began the second set with a 6-3 advantage following a kill by McKown. The Seahawks stretched their lead to as much as 11-6 before the Warriors stormed back to tie the set at 13-13. Both squads traded the next four points to remain deadlocked at 15-15. Webber then scored six unanswered points to take a 21-15 lead, eventually closing the door on the second set, 25-17.
 
Set Three:
Webber took the 2-1 overall lead following the conclusion of the third set. The two squads traded the first 20 points as the squads were knotted at 10-10. The Seahawks and Warriors battled back and forth over the next 10 points, trading leads before the contest was evened at 15-15. After Webber took an 18-16 lead, the Seahawks scored the next two points to even the contest back at 18. The Warriors then pulled away, winning seven of the next eight points to defeat Keiser 25-19 to force a must-win situation in the fourth set for the visiting Seahawks.
 
Set Four:
The Warriors ran away with the fourth and final set after scoring five of the first six points en route to the double-digit final-set victory. Webber stretched its lead to 15-5 midway through the fourth set and kept the Seahawks at a distance, winning the final set by the score of 25-10.
