The Keiser University men's soccer team fell in the Sun Conference tournament championship game to St. Thomas 1-0 on Friday evening. The Seahawks will still receive an automatic bid to the final site of the NAIA National Tournament by virtue of being the host institution.

Turning Point
St. Thomas broke the deadlocked game in the 51st minute when Roni Luokkamaki scored off a rebounded shot that Nicolas Gomez originally saved.

How it Happened
  • The first half of play was very defensive as the Bobcats held a slim 3-2 edge on shots and the game went into the half scoreless.
  • The lone goal of the game in the 51st minute off the foot of Luokkamaki to win the game 1-0.
  • The Seahawks only managed two shots in the second half of play.

Game Notes
  • Freshman Gomez made his first career start in goal.
  • This was the first time since 2008 that Keiser has played for the Sun Conference championship.
  • Thomas Dawson had two of the four Keiser shots.
