How it Happened
Set One:
The opening set began with the two squads trading the first four points before the Seahawks rattled off five of the next six points to take a 7-3 advantage. Florida Memorial closed the gap to 9-8 before Keiser scored two unanswered to stretch its lead back to three. The Seahawks maintained the momentum, exploding to a 17-9 advantage and forcing a Lions' timeout. Florida Memorial could not close the gap to within six as the Seahawks successfully put away the Lions in the 25-16 victory. The Seahawks boasted a .323 hitting percentage, led by Megan Minke's four kills. Keiser successfully held Florida Memorial to below .100 hitting percentage in the opening set, forcing six errors and picking up four assisted blocks.

Set Two:
Keiser extended its lead to 2-0 after winning a hard-fought second set, 25-22. Keiser opened up a quick 5-3 advantage in the second set after two kills by Nikki McKown. The Lions proved resilient, winning the next four points to claim a two-point advantage of their own. Neither squad was able to pull away as there were seven ties through the first 30 points, as the Lions held a 16-14 advantage. Keiser and Florida Memorial could not pull away from each other as the set was tied for the 12th time at 21 apiece. The Lions called a timeout after back-to-back Keiser points gave the Seahawks a late 23-21 advantage. The Seahawks put away the Lions after the break, claiming the tightly contested 25-22 victory.

Set Three:
The third set began much like the second, with six ties through the first 14 points as the set was knotted at 7-7. Three consecutive kills by Lindsey Keegan provided the Seahawks with a three-point advantage. Keegan remained active, assisting McKown in a block to give Keiser a 14-9 advantage and forcing a Florida Memorial timeout. The Lions evened the contest at 16-16 midway through the set after notching five unanswered points. Keiser did not relinquish the lead as McKown and Samantha Thompson recorded three consecutive kills to reclaim the 19-16 advantage. Following a Veera Hietala ace, the Lions called another timeout, down 20-16. The Keiser momentum proved too much for the Lions, as the Seahawks claimed the final five points of the set to win 25-16.
