The men's soccer team went on the road and fell to Auburn Montgomery 4-1 on Saturday afternoon. The Seahawks move to 0-2-1 overall despite outshooting their opponents 14-13, and 7-3 on goal.
Keiser got on the board first in the 11th minute when
Shane McInerney played a long ball that was flicked on by
Liam Gourlay and buried in the back of the net by Ben Fogner. The Warhawks responded in the 26th minute tying the game at 1-1. The score remained knotted at one despite the Seahawks holding a 5-3 edge on shots.
Gourlay had an early chance in the new half to put Keiser ahead but his shot was saved. The Seahawks fired four more that shots were pushed away by strong goalkeeping. However, Auburn Montgomery scored three goals to win the game 4-1.
Six different players recorded two shots in the contest, with
Shoval Failer leading the way with two shots on the goal.
Luke Edgecombe picked up the loss despite making three saves in goal.
The Seahawks look to rebound on Monday afternoon taking on Martin Methodist at 4:00 p.m. The game will be played at Auburn Montgomery.
