The Seahawks men's soccer team saw its three game winning streak snapped by Southeastern 1-0 on Wednesday evening. With the setback, Keiser falls to 3-6-1 overall and 1-2 in Sun Conference play.
Keiser had the game's first two scoring opportunities but both of
Shoval Failer shots were saved. Southeastern controlled the remainder of the half, but
Vinnie Cainth came up with two big saves keeping the contest scoreless heading into the break.
In the new half, it was the Seahawks again with the best scoring opportunities early on as
Emilie Huovinen and
Alessandra Giammattei shots were saved. However, the Fire broke through in the 66th minute with a goal going up 1-0. Huovinen had a chance to tie the game with two minutes left but his shot was saved falling 1-0.
The Seahawks outshot their opponents 11-7, and 5-3 on goal. Failer led the way with three shots and two one goal while
Ben Frogner,
Jaime Segura, and Huovinen had two shots apiece. Cainth made two saves in the contest.
Keiser returns to the field on Saturday when they travel to Ave Maria for a 5:00 p.m. kickoff.
