The Seahawks men's soccer team shutout Warner 2-0 on Wednesday evening in their Sun Conference opener.
Keiser struck first in the eighth minute when
Ben Frogner scored off an assist by
Matthew Iles making it 1-0. The score remained the same going into the break with the Seahawks holding a 5-4 edge on shots.
The Seahawks doubled their lead in the 58th when
Adil Lich scored off an assist by
Alessandra Giammattei for the 2-0 advantage. The defense held off the Royals down the stretch securing the 2-0 shutout victory.
The Seahawks outshot Warner 10-8, and 4-2 shots on goal, while both teams had four corners. Lich and Frogner led the way with three shots.
Vinnie Cainth made two saves in goal.
With the win, Keiser moves to 2-5-1 overall and 1-0 in Sun Conference play. The Seahawks return to the field on Saturday at home against Webber International. The kickoff is set for 3:00 p.m.
