The Seahawks volleyball team swept Florida National 3-0 on Tuesday evening. Keiser University improves to 10-2 overall on the season.
Set OneKeiser jumped out to a 4-1 lead and extended their advantage to 7-3, highlighted by three
Nikki McKown kills. Leading 11-8, a kill by McKown started a 6-0 run pushing the lead out to 17-8. The Seahawks continued cruising going on to win 25-15.
Set TwoVeera Hietala served Keiser to a 5-0 lead, and not allowing the Conquistadors any closer than three at 14-11. A kill by Gida Victor started and ended a 4-0 run extending the lead back out to 18-11. Florida National closed to within 21-18, but Keiser held them off ending the set on a 4-1 run winning 25-19.
Set ThreeWith the score tied at 6-6,
Morgan Leff served the Seahawks to a 9-0 run highlighted by three kills from
Megan Minke taking a commanding 15-6 advantage. The Seahawks went on to end the set on a 4-0 run behind by a McKown and
Miranda Jickell kill winning 25-12.
Offense/DefenseMinke led the way with nine kills and three blocks on the evening.
Ashley Marvel and Hietala had two service aces each.
Nicole Papineau had 17 assists while
Morgan Leff had 14 digs.
Coming UpKeiser is home this weekend for a pair of matches against St. Thomas and Edward Waters at 2:00 and 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.Â
