The Keiser University men's soccer team fell to Olivet Nazarene 1-0 in a weather shortened contest on Friday afternoon. The game endured an hour long delay just four minutes before halftime and finally called for good in the 75th minute of play.
The Tigers had a pair of scoring opportunities in the first half but
Vinnie Cainth came up big with two saves. Although, Keiser had a 5-4 edge in shots in the period, the game went into the half scoreless.
Olivet Nazarene broke through in the 73rd minute with the winning goal before the game was called two minutes later.
Keiser outshot their opponents 11-7, but the Tigers had a 5-2 edge in shots on goal.
Thomas Dawson and
Shane McInerney both had three shots apiece and one on frame. Cainth ended the contest with four saves in goal.
With the defeat, the Seahawks fall to 0-4-1 overall but have a chance to rebound tomorrow afternoon against Oklahoma Wesleyan. The kickoff is set for 3:00 p.m.
