The Keiser University men's soccer team tied Florida National 2-2 in their season opener on Wednesday afternoon. After a scoreless first half, both teams netted two goals apiece in the second half before battling to a deadlock in both overtime periods.
Florida National broke through in the 58th minute, but the Seahawks knotted the game in the 75th minute.
Thomas Dawson lobbed a long ball into the box from the right side that

Dawson picked up his second assist when his corner kick found the head of
Shane McInerney tying it at 2-2. Both teams battled hard in the overtime periods but neither scored with the game ending 2-2.
"It was good to get a game under our belts today. I was very pleased with some of our new players today. Overall, both teams were talented enough to expose some weaknesses. We'll use this to build on those as we prepare for Texas Wesleyan. It was a good test today," said Coach
Joe Zakowicz.
McInerney led the way with three shots, while
Liam Gourlay and Dawson had two apiece.
Luke Edgecombe made five saves in goal.
The Seahawks return to action next Friday when they take on Texas Wesleyan at 2:00 p.m. The game will be played at St. Thomas University in Miami Gardens, Florida.
