The #9 Northwood women's tennis team took down #8 Brenau 5-2 in the second round of the NAIA National Tournament.
The Seahawks scored the first point in doubles with a win by Livia Toth and Lola Garcia. However, the Tigers took the next two doubles points for a 2-1 lead.
In singles, Garcia breezed in the sixth spot to identical 6-1 wins tying the match at 2-2, but the Tigers took the next point for a 3-2 lead. The Seahawks though answered winning the next three matches.
Rocia Merlo in the fourth spot won 6-1, 6-2 and Mathilde Thibaudat won 6-3, 6-1 in the third spot. Toth then put the match away with her hard fought 7-5, 7-5 victories.
Northwood returns to action tomorrow in the quarter final round against #1 Georgia Gwinnett. The match is set for 2:00 p.m.
