The Northwood men's tennis team suffered their first loss of the year against NCAA Division 3 #22 Wisconsin-Whitewater 7-2 on Thursday afternoon.

The Seahawks jumped out to a fast 2-0 lead in doubles with wins by #1 Alvaro Iturriaga/Rafael Lenz and #2 David Uquillas/Martin Martins by 8-6 scores.

In second singles, Uquillas fell in the first set 4-6, before taking the second 7-6 (7-3), but dropped a close third 7-10. Ignacio Osse in the fifth singles lost the first set 3-6, won the second 6-2, but lost in the decisive third 6-10.

With the setback, the Seahawks are now 8-1 overall on the year. They return to the court tomorrow morning against Colby at 10:00 a.m. in Orlando.
