The Northwood baseball team came up short against Trinity Baptisit on Friday evening by a final of 2-0. The Seahawks fell despite Cody Gray striking out 13 hitters over six innings of work on the mound.

Trinity Baptist struck first scoring an unearned run in the bottom of the first for an early 1-0 lead. Northwood had a chance to pull even in the fourth when Carlos Contreras and Keivan Berges both walked to begin the inning. Brandon Crawford proceeded to load the bases with a single but the next two batters could not get a run across, still trailing 1-0 heading into the fifth.

The Eagles tacked another unearned run on in the eighth inning going on to win 2-0. The Seahawks fall to 0-3 overall on the early part of the season.

Ryan Palenzuela and Crawford had the two hits for Northwood.

Both teams meet again on Saturday in two seven inning games. The first pitch is set for 12:00 p.m.
