The Keiser University volleyball team swept Ave Maria 3-0 on Saturday afternoon during senior day. The Seahawks honored Kelsie Kopicki, Gida Victor, and Julie Law.

What Happened
The Seahawks jumped out to a 4-0 lead and extended it to 9-2. Ave Maria closed to within 15-11 when a Nikki McKown kill began a 9-1 going out in front 24-11 and won 25-13.

The Gyrenes led 10-9 in the second, when a Kopicki kill started a 5-0 run capped by a Victor retaking a 14-10 advantage. Keiser held off Ave Maria coming away with the 25-19 victory.

In the third set, Keiser led 22-15 when Ave Maria closed to within 22-20, when a Mckown kill and two straight hitting errors gave the Seahawks a 25-20 win.

Inside the Box
--The Seahawks hit .452 during the match with only seven errors.
--Chantelle Zamora led the way with 14 kills, while McKown and Victor had nine kills apiece.
--Nicole Papineau passed for a match high 36 assists.
--Victor had a match high five blocks.
--Marvel had a match high 13 assists.
 
Coaches Corner
Head Coach Chris Taylor, "I couldn't be happier to send out seniors with a win this afternoon. These three seniors have been great members of this program for us over the last four years. They played great today and the whole team did to. It is great win as we get ready for the conference tournament next week and have the momentum going after this weekend.

Keiser ends the regular season with a 22-10 overall and 7-5 in Sun Conference play. The Seahawks will enter the conference tournament next week as the fourth seed facing either Warner or St. Thomas.
