Box Score WEST PALM BEACH, FL.---The Northwood University women's basketball team ended the 2014 calendar year falling to Montana State Northern 79-59. The Seahawks conclude their non-conference schedule with a 1-7 overall record.
The Skylights jumped out to an early 7-2 lead, when Dana Gildea hit a jumper and three pointer to get within 9-7.Montana State Northern pushed out a 14-7 lead, but the Seahawks were able to get within 18-14 at the 9:04 mark. However, the Seahawks went into the half down 37-23, and could not keep up in the second half falling 79-59.
Mallory Burton led the way with 11 points, while Emily May chipped in ten. Claudia Reque had a game high five assists. Chanel Brooks, Gildea, and May all had three rebounds apiece.
The Seahawks will look to regroup as they jump back into Sun Conference action on Wednesday, January 7, when they travel to Southeastern. Northwood enters the game with a 1-0 conference record after defeating Johnson & Wales 88-68 in December.
