Seahawks Men's Soccer Defeats Embry-Riddle 1-0

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - The Northwood University(Fla.) men's soccer team won their final regular season home game of the season as they defeated visiting Embry-Riddle 1-0 on Senior Day in a Sun Conference game on Saturday.

The Seahawks improved to 8-4-2 overall and 6-2-2 in the Sun Conference.  Embry Riddle dropped to  5-5-3 overall and 5-4-1 in conference play. 

The Seahawks are unbeaten in four of their last five contests and did not have a home loss in any Sun Conference games in the regular season.

Christian Costilla scored on an assist by Mark Hanlon in the first half and the Seahawks were able to hold off the Eagles in the reaminder of regulation. 

The Seahawks had 11 seniors that were honored on the field after the game.

"It was another great day and we were able to get a win without a few key people nursing injuries,"Seahawks head coach Joe Zakowicz said. "I was very pleased with our gritty performance."

The Seahawks earn another home game as they will host Embry-Riddle in the Sun Conference playoffs on Saturday, November 8.
