Seahawks Volleyball Falls in Three Sets to Warner

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - The Northwood University(Fla.) volleyball team struggled to find a consistent offensive attack and were unable to recover from costly errors as they fell in three sets to Warner University(16-25, 10-25, 12-25) on Saturday. 

The Lady Seahawks dropped to 10-12 overall and 4-6 in the Sun Conference while the Royals improved to 8-9 overall and 7-2 in conference play.

The Lady Seahawks were also swept by the Royals on September 13 in the first meeting between the two teams.

In the first set, the Lady Seahawks trailed 16-13 before the Royals scored six straight points to pull away and take control. 

The Lady Seahawks trailed 11-6 in the second set, but the Royalswent on an 8-0 run to put the set away.

In the third set, the Royals took an 11-5 lead and then scored five straight points to once again take command of the match.

Nikki McKown led the Lady Seahawks with five kills and seven digs to lead the squad. Nicole Papineau chipped in with 17 assists and six digs while Ti'Ana Fox added 10 digs. 

The Lady Seahawks registered 22 kills, but committed 23 errors in the match. The Seahawks committed nine errors and just had three kills in the second set. 

Warner University notched 40 kills and just committed 10 errors.

The Lady Seahawks will return home to host St. Thomas(Fla.) on Friday, October 31 at 7 p.m.
