WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - The Northwood University(Fla.) volleyball team battled against stiff competition and were unable to come away with any wins in four matches at the Clearwater Christian Invitational Tournament in Clearwater, Florida from October 10-11.

The Lady Seahawks dropped their opening match of the tournament to Point Park(19-25, 19-25, 34-36).

The Lady Seahawks responded after losing the first two sets in a showdown that needed extra points in a back-and-forth marathon battle, but were unable to come away with the win to force a fourth set.

Point Park dictated the flow of the match in the first two sets as the Seahawks were unable to generate enough consistency at the net. The Seahawks allowed Point Park to have a combined 25 kills in the first two sets.

The Lady Seahawks fell in their second match of the tournament to Clearwater Christian(17-25, 17-25, 12-25).

The Lady Sehawks were unable to bounce back against Florida College and fell 16-25, 23-25, 19-25. In the second set, the Seahawks were able to put pressure on Florida College and just could not finish with the game hanging in the balance.

In the final match of the tournament, the Lady Seahawks were unable to generate momentum after the first set as they fell to Pensacola Christian in four sets by a score of 25-17, 16-25, 24-26, 17-25.

"We played well at times and did a lot of good things as a team throughout the tournament," Seahawks volleyball head coach Chris Taylor said. "It comes down to consistency and we need to play more consistent."

The Lady Seahawks hold a 10-10 overall record and are 4-4 in the Sun Conference.

The Seahawks wil return to the court for Sun Conference play as they visit Webber International on Friday, October 17 at 7 p.m.
