Tyler Sobey enters his second season as an assistant women's basketball coach for the Seahawks. In his first season on staff, he helped guide the program to a 19–8 overall record, including an 11–5 mark in conference play. The Seahawks produced four All-Conference selections, including two First Team honorees, while also earning recognition in the classroom with four CSC Academic All-District selections and six NAIA Scholar-Athletes.
Prior to Keiser, Sobey spent four seasons at LSU Shreveport, where he played a key role in guiding the Pilots to a 120–30 overall record, three consecutive Red River Athletic Conference Tournament Championships (2019–20, 2020–21, 2021–22), and three straight regular-season titles (2020–21, 2021–22, 2022–23). He was instrumental in recruiting and developing six NAIA All-Americans while contributing to film breakdown, scouting, and in-game strategy. Off the court, Sobey managed travel logistics, academic support, and the program's digital presence.
Before his tenure at LSU Shreveport, Sobey spent two seasons at LSU Alexandria, helping the Generals compile a 59–12 record. He contributed to the team's 2017 NAIA National Runner-Up finish and two conference championships. Sobey also helped oversee an offense that led the nation in scoring at 95.4 points per game during the 2018–19 season while assisting with player development, video scouting, eligibility coordination, and social media management.
Sobey earned his bachelor's degree in political science and communications from the University of Arkansas in 2017 and completed his master's degree in educational leadership from LSU Shreveport in 2020.
