Pre-Keiser
During his time at Point, Caldwell served as the head coach of the Michigan Monarchs in the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League. He also spent three seasons as the hitting and defense coach for the Wausau Woodchucks in Northwoods Summer League. Prior to his stint with the Skyhawks, Caldwell was the hitting coach for Salt Lake Community College. In 2018, he nabbed his first head coaching gig at Juan Diego Catholic High School.
 
Playing Career
As a player, Caldwell was a four-year player at Brigham Young. He was a two-time West Coast Conference First-Team honoree and batted .283 in his career. He would go on to play professional baseball for the Ozark Mountaineers and the River City Rascals before traveling to play in Australia for one season with the Brisbane Bandits in 2016.

Prior to his collegiate career, Caldwell batted .451, hit eight homers, and tallied seven doubles for Jordan High in his senior season. He was named to the Deseret News First Team All-State in 2009 and 2010.
