Harvey Simpson

Harvey Simpson enters his fifth season as the Head Cross Country and Assistant Track & Field Coach at Keiser University.

Simpson's Stride
  • Coached Harriet Tuson to an NAIA Indoor National Championship in the 600 Meter Run in 2022.
  • Helped Melvin Johnson become an All-American in the indoor 60m dash. 
  • Oversaw the All-American relay team of Brandon Baker, Vindero Lightfoot, Omario Windett, and Cliff Desir. 
  • Guided two indoor NAIA Track & Field All-Americans.
  • Off the track, Darin Hinshaw, Gage Rasmussen, and Marie Marc, Ah'leeyah Strappier, and Nikola Vukelja were honored as Sun Conference Champions of Character. 
2025
  • Seahawk women and men finished 5th at Sun Conference XC Championships
  • Yanis Le Mouillour was named Sun Conference Freshman of the Year

2024
  • Helped the Keiser women to a runner up finish in the Sun Conference Indoor Championships.
  • Coached two national qualifiers, and three Sun Conference Champions. 
2023
  • Helped top KU men's runner Nikola Vukelja and women's runner Emily Guthrie set new PRs in the 8k and 6k, respectively.
  • Mentored Chicago Marathon participant Juan Perez. 

2022
  • Guided Keiser through a season that saw numerous individual PRs.
  • Mentored Philippine Rey to four top-100 finishes, including a 13th place finish at the Ave Maria Invitational.
  • Helped Keiser host the first home meet in school history, the Keiser University Flagship Invitational.
  • Tutored Boston Marathon participant Juan Perez. 
  • Steered KU to a sixth place finish at Sun Conference XC championships. 
2021
  • Took over Keiser cross country and led the Seahawks to a sixth place finish in the Sun Conference. 
  • Helped the Seahawks to 38 top-50 finishes, including nine top-10 finishes.

Pre-Keiser
Simpson brings 23 years of coaching experience to the Seahawks with his most recent stop coming at Brewton-Parker College where he served as the Head Track & Field Coach.
 
In his lone season, he coached the programs first Indoor National Champion (60m hurdles). Simpson led the men's outdoor team to a runner-up finish at the Southern States Conference Championship. Overall, he guided 25 student-athletes to All-Conference honors in outdoor track and saw 12 school records broken during the year.
 
Simpson began his collegiate coaching career at Cincinnati Christian University for a season. He coached the 2019 River States Conference Champion in the 60m. Simpson also made stops at Bishop Verot Catholic High School, IceUp Athletics & Track Club and Oasis High School.

Simpson graduated from Rasmussen University with a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Management.
