The No. 15 Keiser men's soccer team opened its 2026 season in convincing fashion, defeating Thomas 4-0 on Saturday afternoon at Arrigo-Vecellio Field.
The Seahawks controlled play from the opening whistle, testing the Thomas defense early through Francis Bolland and Xabi Souto before finally breaking through in the 17th minute. Souto opened his season account with a finish set up by Keanu Does and Timo Boomkens, giving Keiser a 1-0 edge it would carry into the break. Keiser continued to generate chances the rest of the half, with Mikael Baisotti, Mohammed Mouzoune and Boomkens all forcing saves or narrowly missing the target, but Thomas found its best look of the match in the 30th minute when Ryan Donnelly rattled the crossbar off a corner kick before following up with a blocked attempt moments later. Keiser led 1-0 at the half despite a 12-3 advantage in shots.
The Seahawks pulled away in the second half. Nicolaj Kamarin, who entered late in the first half as a substitute, opened his season with a goal in the 51st minute off a Boomkens assist, then struck again just seven minutes later off a feed from Mouzoune to make it 3-0. Thomas goalkeeper Damien Fortin kept the game from getting further out of hand in the second half, turning away multiple Keiser attempts including saves on Baisotti and a Harley Dawson header, but Keiser's pressure eventually paid off again when Victor Mairet capped the scoring in the 83rd minute off an assist from Alejandro Molina-Casas. On the other end, Edward Sack led the way for Thomas with three shot attempts in the second half, but goalkeeper Finn Froley turned away everything he faced to preserve the clean sheet in Keiser's season opener.
