The No. 2-ranked Keiser University women's golf team closed out another outstanding season with a third-place finish at the NAIA Women's National Championship, carding a three-round total of 922 (+58) at Eagle Crest Golf Club in Ypsilanti, Michigan.
The Seahawks improved in each round of the championship, opening with a 310 before posting rounds of 309 and a 303 during the final round (best score of the round) to secure the top-three national finish.
Herry Ji led the way for Keiser with a tie for fifth individually after finishing at 226 (+10). Ji opened the tournament with a 77 (+5), then responded with a 73 (+1) in round two before closing with a 76 (+4) to earn all-tournament recognition.
Linda Stamm also produced a top-10 finish, tying for ninth overall at 229 (+13). After rounds of 80 (+8) and 77 (+5), Stamm closed the championship with an even-par 72 - one of the best final rounds in the field - to vault into the top 10 and garner NAIA All-Tournament honors.
Sophia Sindersberger, also named to the NAIA All-Tournament Team, tied for 15th overall with a score of 231 (+15), highlighted by an opening-round 75 (+3).
Luz Maria Ardila added a top-40 finish for the Seahawks, tying for 36th at 236 (+20), while Faye Wheatley finished 78th overall at 248 (+32).
Team champion honors went to SCAD Savannah, which finished one stroke ahead of Dalton State College with a winning score of 919 (+55). Makena Junkin claimed individual medalist honors at 220 (+4).
With the third-place finish, Keiser has now placed in the top 5 in the NAIA National Championship 11 times.
