The Keiser University wrestling team delivered a strong performance on Senior Night, earning a 30–16 victory over Truett McConnell on Friday evening inside the Student Life Center. Beginning the dual at 133 pounds, the Seahawks set the tone early and used bonus-point wins at key moments to secure the team win in front of the home crowd.
Graduate Student Josiah Fernandez ignited the night at 133 pounds with a first-period fall over Stanley Lal, giving Keiser an early lead and energizing the Student Life Center. Momentum continued at 141 as Anthony Santos added another quick pin, sticking Caleb Benton in just 1:27 to push the Seahawks further in front.
After Truett McConnell responded with wins at 149, 157, and 165, Keiser answered back in dominant fashion through the middle and upper weights. Ronald Butler picked up a major decision at 174, followed by a technical fall from sixth-ranked Sam Libby at 184 to swing momentum firmly back to the Seahawks. Jett McCauley added a victory at 197, and Jordan Sommers sealed the team result with a hard-fought decision at heavyweight.
The dual concluded with an extra bout at 125 pounds that did not count toward the team score, where Trevon Hawkins-Robertson earned an 8–5 decision over Tate Thomas.
With the win, Keiser closed out its home slate on a high note, honoring its seniors while continuing to build momentum heading into the postseason.

It was a good team win tonight, and a great way to close out the season in front of our home crowd. The guys are starting to look really sharp at the most important time of the year. It was special to honor our seniors, Josiah Fernandez and Rocco D'Ascoli, and reflect on their careers. I was fortunate enough to sit in Josiah's corner for six years across two different schools, and seeing the growth of both him and Rocco throughout my time coaching them is what makes this job so special. I'm really excited to see these guys compete one last time together as a dual team tomorrow against our rival.

Keiser will return to action tomorrow, February 7th, when the Seahawks travel to Miami Gardens to compete against rival St. Thomas for the final dual of the season
