When asked about today's result, Head Coach
Ali Borhani had this to say: "Another one for the boys this week against a pretty talented St. Thomas team. I think those guys will make some noise in the rankings this year and I'm very happy with the 5-0 win. We played with high energy in doubles today and moved a lot at the net, which helped us get the 1-0 lead. Ollie and Andrew played great on court two and the duo of Didi and Dubas took care of business on court one as expected. In singles play, we won six first sets and took the fight out of St. Thomas. Ollie moved up to court three today and got our first point in singles, 6-1, 6-1. So happy to see the young lad relaxed and playing his game. Dubas followed quickly after to put us up 3-0 playing the cat-and-mouse game that he is so good at. Didi had another incredible performance today, beating a player that will be ranked in the top 5 nationally this year. And finally, Mr. Reliable (Shaheed) finished same time as Didi with a convincing performance. Thanks to all the fans that came out to watch, especially the group from Mouratoglou led by Fanny."
King on the energy of the team: "I felt like the boys and I came out really strong today after Monday being average, especially in the doubles everyone was loud and came out and did what was needed to be done, and then in singles I felt we knew what we needed to do, learning from indoors with the energy needing to be high from the get-go and we came out firing in all first sets, high energy after points lost or won."
Liljekvist on today's result: "I was happy with the way we started off in doubles, loud and energetic. That energy is something I feed off of and it helped me grab a 6-3 win in doubles with Matt (Dubas) and then a big win in singles in very tough conditions against a very solid player. Everybody from the team was loud and positive which is something I like from my boys."
The Seahawks will travel to the USTA Campus in Lake Nona, Fla. for a match against Division III, No. 6 Emory on March 11. First serve is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
