The No. 9 Keiser Seahawks grinded out a 1-0 win over rival St. Thomas on Saturday morning, opening Sun Conference play with their fourth straight victory. It wasn't as flashy as some of their earlier results, but the Seahawks once again showed grit against a tough opponent, improving their unbeaten streak to seven matches (6-0-1). The defensive effort was highlighted by Santiago Nebot's fourth solo and fifth combined shutout of the year.

The lone breakthrough came in the 88th minute when a failed Bobcat clearance deflected into space, and Xabi Souto pounced on the loose ball. The sophomore broke free on a one-on-one and slotted it home for his first goal of the season, becoming the 13th different Seahawk to score this fall. The match was a physical affair, featuring 14 total yellow cards — including nine issued to the Bobcats, with two shown to the Bobcat coaching staff. St. Thomas best chance came on a first-half breakaway, but Nebot calmly denied the attempt to preserve the clean sheet.
