The No. 2-ranked Keiser women's golf team registered its fifth tournament title with a 5-under, 859, at the Music City Classic in Old Hickory, Tennessee, on Tuesday. The Seahawks were the only team to finish under-par, winning this year's classic by 19 strokes. This year's field consisted of 17 teams with 14 represented in the latest NAIA Coaches' Top 25 - five in the top 10.
The Seahawks set the tone on Day One, with the second-lowest, 36-hole total in team history on Monday, shooting a 570 to take a 13-stroke lead. Keiser pulled away with a second-round 283 (the fourth-lowest round in program history). Keiser claimed the victory, with a 19-stroke lead over No. 9 SCAD-Atlanta (+14). Rounding out the top 5 were T-No. 5 Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) (+23), No. 13 Indiana Wesleyan (+25), and T-No. 5 Marian (Ind.) (+27).
Carolin Alblas earned the second individual title of the season and her career, shooting a career-low 208 (71-67-70). With an 8-under, Alblas recorded the second-lowest, 54-hole score in Keiser history. Finishing directly behind Alblas was Luz Maria Ardila, who notched the second top-5 finish of her career, placing second with a 5-under, 211 (68-69-70). The 211 was a career low for Ardila (54 holes). Also, placing in the top 10 was Sophia Sindersberger, who notched her sixth top-10 finish of the season (4-over, 220).
With the tournament win, Keiser improved to 48-0-0 versus NAIA opponents this season.
