Keiser men's soccer fell this evening in a hard fought match at No. 3 Mobile. The Seahawks battled all the way with the Rams, but ultimately fell on a final minute goal.

How it Happened
  • The game was an intense struggle right from the start, with the two teams dueling for possession all across the field
  • Three fouls were called on Keiser in the first 10 minutes of the match
  • In the 19th minute, Gabi Villafane was able to steal the ball from a Ram midfielder, and work the ball over to Manu Cordeviola for a KU goal
  • For the next 27 minutes, the Keiser defense stood firm against an aggressive Ram attack, turning away eight shots and six corner kicks
  • The Seahawks took a 1-0 lead into halftime
  • Coming out of the break, the game seemed to slow to a halt as each team was whistled for fouls, with the two squads combining for six fouls in the first 11 minutes of the half, with only two shots taken
  • The Rams were able to tie the game up in the 60th minute on an unassisted goal
  • For the next 40 minutes of action, the two sides clashed on defense, with neither side able to break the tie despite some questionable no-calls on several physical plays
  • In the 80th minute Cordeviola nearly scored his second goal of the game, but the shot was blocked at the last second
  • The game appeared destined for overtime, but the Rams were able to score a goal with 50 seconds on the clock
  • The Seahawks pushed hard to get the equalizer but a last second shot from Gabi Villafane missed wide left, and the match came to an end
