No. 4 Women's Lacrosse Records Third Shutout in Program History in Win over Tennessee Wesleyan

For just the third time in program history, No. 4 Keiser women's lacrosse recorded a shutout victory on Thursday afternoon with a 22-0 win over Tennessee Wesleyan. Multiple milestones were reached along with a few program records being approached by the end of the game.
 

 
First Quarter
Keiser 7, Tennessee Wesleyan 0
  • Madison Andrews opened the game with her 21st goal of the season after just over a minute into the game.
  • Hayley Frew tallied two goals in the first six minutes of the game sandwiching a Talia Myers goal to put Keiser ahead 4-0.
  • Following Chloe Foley's first goal of the game, Andrews scored again followed by Milena Isturiz with her first of the day. 
  • The Seahawks held a 7-0 lead after the first quarter of play.
Second Quarter
Keiser 14, Tennessee Wesleyan 0
  • Frew completed her hat trick with just under 14 minutes left in the half to put KU up 8-0.
  • With 12:37 on the clock, Mayrin Rushford recorded her first career goal for the Seahawks.
  • Myers tallied her second of the game before Emily McCall got on the board with 6:21 showing to make it an 11-0 Seahawks lead.
  • After a goal from MacKenzie Gibaud, Myers netted two more to get her third and fourth of the game to give Keiser a 14-0 lead going into the half.
Third Quarter
Keiser 17, Tennessee Wesleyan 0
  • Foley found a wide-open Isturiz in front of net with just over 10 minutes to play who sank her second of the game to put the Seahawks up 15-0.
  • Esher finished the quarter with back-to-back goals including a 360 goal and a behind-the-back no-look score to beat the buzzer.
Fourth Quarter
Keiser 22, Tennessee Wesleyan 0
  • McCall netted her second of the game early in the fourth before Andrews finished her hat-trick to put Keiser up 19-0.
  • Carly Chretien scored the first goal of her college career to make it 20-0 with five minutes to play.
  • Following Esher's hat-trick goal, Chretien scored the final goal of the game off a pass from Kamille Thomas to bring the final score to 22-0.

  • 100/100: Both Myers and Esher surpassed 100 career points in the game.
  • 38: The 38 points for the team tied for the fifth most points in a game in program history.
  • 24: With 24 caused turnovers in the game, the defense tallied the third most caused turnovers in a game.
  • 22/3: For the third time in program history, Keiser shut out their opponents with each yielding a 22-0 final result.
  • 16: The 16 assists marked the second most in a game in the history of the program.
  • 7: Esher tallied a season-high seven points in the game with a team-best four assists in the game.
  • 5/3: Makena Myers had the best game of her young career with five caused turnovers and three groundballs.
  • 5: Esher also led the team with five groundballs in the game.
  • 4: Three different players recorded four draw controls as Frew, Isturiz, and Myers all hit the mark.
  • 4: T. Myers scored a season-high four goals in the contest and added an assist.
  • 0: The Keiser defense did not allow a single shot in the game.
