The Keiser softball team improved to 9-8, 2-1 on the season today with a split doubleheader versus Warner. The Seahawks went down on a walk-off single in game one, and shut out the Royals 4-0 in the second game.Â

Pitchers of Record:Â W: Morton (5-5) L: Small (5-4)
- Kelsie Merriman got the start, and pitched the first five innings. (57 pitches)
- Lizzy Small was saddled with the loss after pitching 1.2 innings. (22 pitches)

Keiser fought through three scoreless innings, and fell behind 2-0 in the fourth inning. The Seahawks took the lead and put three runs on the board on the fifth inning, but ultimately fell on a walk off single from Warner in the bottom of the seventh.

- The Royals took their first lead of the game on an RBI triple.Â
- Later in the fourth, a Seahawk throwing error allowed Warner to go up by two.

- The Royals tied up the game with a solo home run.

- After Keiser was unable to break the tie in the seventh inning, Warner walked off the game with an RBI single.Â

- Lizzy Small pitched a gem, and struck out one batter while allowing no runs. (82 pitches)
- Tess McGann went 2-3 at the plate with an RBI.Â
- Four different Seahawks (Schaaf, McGann, Bullock, Reid) stole a base.Â
- The Seahawks capitalized on a stellar pitching effort from Lizzy Small, and a big 5th inning to shutout the Royals and take the series.Â

- After leaving five baserunners stranded in the first four innings, Keiser took its first lead of the game with an RBI single from Tess McGann.Â
- Two batters later, Lizzy Small hit a sac-fly that brought home McGann.
- In the following at-bat, Kelsie Merriman hit an RBI single that scored Ashley Bullock. Â
Keiser 4, Warner 0
- The Seahawks added to their lead when a Warner error allowed pinch runner Molly Woerner to score.Â

- The Royals had their final shot to get on the board, but the Seahawks recorded three consecutive outs to win the game, and the series.Â

- Lizzy Small pitched 15.2 innings, struck out five batters, and recorded three hits with two RBIs during the Warner series.Â
- During each game of the series, neither team scored a run in the first or second innings.Â
- As a team, Keiser collected 20 hits in three games versus the Royals.Â
- KU is 7-2 in its last nine games.

"We are learning to win as a team," said head coach
John Pryor. "I told our girls to keep fighting no matter what. This team is committing to the winning process, and the results are showing on the field."

The Seahawks will play two neutral site games against Avila University this Tuesday. First pitch of game one is set for 1:00 p.m.Â
