The No. 2 Keiser men's tennis team picked up their first win of the 2023 spring season in shutout fashion, taking down No. 8 Lindsey Wilson, 4-0.

• Shaheed Alam and Christian Foss opened the match with speed on court one of doubles play, winning 6-1.
• On court two, Martin Carrizo and Yassir Kilani clinched the doubles point with a 6-3 win to give Keiser a 1-0 advantage in the match.
• Gaston Cantero and Soufiane El Mesbahi were leading 4-3 on court three when the point was clinched.

• Cantero followed his doubles play with a quick 6-2, 6-0 match on court three to put Keiser ahead 2-0.
• Minutes later, No. 8 El Mesbahi finished his opponent on court six, 6-1, 6-3.
• Shortly after, No. 10 Alam clinched the match on court one with a 6-1, 6-0 victory.
• No. 9 Carrizo was nearly finished with his match on court five when it was clinched as he led 6-2, 5-4.

"Good effort today by the boys," said Head Coach, Daniel Finn, "Lindsey Wilson is a feisty team that tries to get in your head and we did a good job for the most part by staying the track and taking care of ourselves. Shaheed and Christian played really well in doubles and helped us set the momentum that honestly carried on in singles. Singles were a bit up and down depending on the different positions, but overall the boys did a good job of playing their game, executing, and getting off the court to rest for tomorrow. We have a very good opponent tomorrow in UNOH, so coming out strong will definitely be key."



Keiser will face No. 4 University of Northwestern Ohio in the Semifinal of the ITA NAIA National Men's Team Indoor Championship at 11:30 CT in Overland Park, Kansas.
