On opening night, under the lights, No. 4 Women's Lacrosse kicked off the new season in dominant fashion with a 22-7 win over Webber International on their home field in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Keiser 5, Webber 2
- Webber scored the opening goal of the game just under 40 seconds into the contest.
- MacKenzie Gibaud scored the first goal of the season for the Seahawks with 13 minutes on the clock to tie the game.
- She doubled her scoring total four minutes later off Samantha Esher's first assist as a Seahawk.
- Sydney Passaro and Madison Andrews followed with their first goals of the year to put KU up 4-1 with 6:59 on the clock.
- Following a goal from Webber's Bryce Gerber, Esher scored her first as a member of the Seahawks with nine seconds left to give Keiser a 5-2 lead heading into the second quarter.
Keiser 11, Webber 6
- Esher continued her strong performance into the second with a free-position goal at the 13:23 mark.
- The Warriors scored their third goal of the night but not before Talia Myers scored her first of the season to make it 7-3.
- Andrews and Myers had Keiser up by six with 8:18 left in the second quarter.
- Back-to-back goals from the Warriors cut the deficit down to four with just under six minutes to play.
- Myers finished her hat trick at the five-minute mark before Emily McCall scored her first collegiate goal to put KU up 11-5.
- Webber was able to get a goal back with six seconds left in the half to make it 11-6 in favor of the Seahawks going into the break.
Keiser 16, Webber 7
- Esher opened the second half with her third of the night at the 9:34 mark.
- Back-to-back goals just over a minute apart by Andrews put Keiser ahead 14-6 with 5:39 on the clock.
- Following Gerber's fourth goal for Webber, Andrews put in her fifth goal of the night with 48 seconds left in the third.
- Just 16 seconds later, Passaro scored to make it 16-7 going into the final quarter of the night.
Keiser 22, Webber 7
- Andrews started the fourth quarter with a goal at the 12:13 mark to put KU up by 10.
- A trio of first goals of the season followed with Chloe Foley, Leanza Gibaud, and Milena Isturiz all getting on the board.
- Esher scored her fourth of the night before Isturiz scored the final goal of the game to give Keiser a 22-7 win on opening night.
- 8: Passaro led the team with eight points on the night which ties for third-most all-time.
- 8: Emily McCall led the Seahawks with eight draw controls in her debut for Keiser.
- 6: Passaro's six assists are the second-most in a game in program history.
- 6: Andrews picked up where she left off last year with six goals in the game which is tied for the third most in a game in program history.
- 6: Making her debut for the Seahawks in the net, Margaret Wroe stopped six shots
- 5: Rebecca Gibson and Andrews tied for the team lead with five ground balls on the night.
- 5/4: In her first appearance for the Seahawks and against her former team, Esher had five points with four being goals.
- 4: Gibson led the way on the defense with four caused turnovers.
