No. 11 Men's Soccer Falls to Indiana Tech, 2-1 at NAIA Final Site

The No. 11-ranked Keiser men's soccer team fell to the Warriors of Indiana Tech this morning 2-1 to end their season a the final site in Wichita, Kansas. The lone goal of the day for the Seahawks came from a Mikael Baisotti penalty kick in the first half.

.How it Happened
  • The Seahawks fired a shot in the first 10 minutes off the boot of Santiago Duque to be saved by Indiana Tech goalkeeper David Martinez.
  • The Warriors followed up by returning a shot to the Seahawks net saved by Santiago Nebot.
  • After a foul was called on Indiana Tech in the 36th minute, Keiser was presented with a penalty kick opportunity to take the lead.
  • Freshman Mikael Baisotti netted his sixth penalty kick of the season for the Seahawks to take the lead.
  • Nebot recorded three saves in the first half to keep the Warriors off the board.
  • In the 58th minute, the Warriors tied the match with a goal from Douglas Appiah Kubi off a header from the corner kick.
  • The two squads went back and forth for possession, but ultimately the ball was with the Warriors outshooting the Seahawks 11-5 in the second half of play.
  • With just four minutes remaining in the match, Indiana Tech's Warren Moss took a shot in the upper left corner to give the Warriors the 2-1 lead to end the season for the Seahawks.

  • Keiser's finishes the season with a 12-4-5 record.
  • The Seahawks fall to 11-6-2 in the NAIA tournament.
  • Indiana Tech had seven yellow cards on the day.
  • The Seahawks only had one yellow card on the day being handed to defender Noah Southwell.
  • Mikael Baisotti went a perfect 6-for-6 on the year on penalty kick attempts and led the team in goals with 13.
  • Jack Casey wraps up his senior season with a total of eight assists on the year.
  • Santiago Nebot finishes the season as the school record holder in single-season shutouts (8) and single-season saves (87).
