No. 3 Keiser Women's Lacrosse kept the Gyrenes out of reach for the majority of the game en route to a 23-12 win at home on Friday.

First Quarter
Keiser 6, Ave Maria 1
  • The Seahawks jumped out to an early 2-0 lead, with 11:44 on the clock. Goals were scored by Rachel McLaughlin and Lena Finkelstein.
  • Keiser stretched their lead to 6-0 with 6:34 remaining, as Ashtyn Stoor, Valeria Lomaglio, Mia Dyson, and Finkelstein scored.
  • With 14 seconds remaining in the period, Monrae Prentice got Ave Maria on the board, cutting the lead to 6-1.
Second Quarter
Keiser 11, Ave Maria 5
  • Ave Maria trimmed the lead to 6-2, scoring with 13:50 on the clock.
  • KU added two goals by both McLaughlin and Hayley Frew with 12:02 left, increasing the lead to 8-2.
  • The Gyrenes tacked on a goal at the 11:31 mark.
  • Lomaglio got the goal back, scoring with 10:22 remaining to make it a 9-3 game.
  • Emma Davis responded for Ave Maria, scoring a man-up goal with 6:41 on the clock.
  • Keiser tallied two goals by both Frew and Sydney Passaro, upping their lead to 11-4 with 3:06 left.
  • The Gyrenes scored at the 1:30 mark slicing the lead to 11-5 going into the half.
Third Quarter
Keiser 16, Ave Maria 8
  • The Seahawks opened the period with four consecutive goals, increasing the margin to 15-5 with 7:27 remaining.
  • The Gyrenes tallied a free-position goal with 5:25 remaining.
  • Leanza Gibaud scored with 3:09 left to extend the KU lead to 16-6.
  • Ave Maria ended the period on a 2-0 run, shaving the lead to 16-8 heading to the fourth.
Fourth Quarter
Keiser 23, Ave Maria 12
  • Madison Andrews tallied her first of the afternoon with 13:45 on the clock.
  • AMU would respond with back-to-back goals to cut the KU lead to 17-10 with 9:19 left.
  • Chloe Foley picked up her first goal before Andrews scored her second at the 8:26 mark to extend the Keiser lead to 19-10
  • Following a Gyrenes goal, the Seahawks put together a 4-0 run capped by Haley Knudsen with 2:11 left in the game.
  • Ave Maria would score the final goal with 21 seconds left in the game as Keiser would hold onto a 23-12 win.

  • 3: Bridget Reddington led the Seahawks with three assists on the evening. 
  • 4: Finkelstein and Lomaglio tallied four goals each in the contest.
  • 4/6: Cassidy Green made four saves and a team-best six groundballs.
  • 5: Rebecca Gibson led Keiser with five caused turnovers in the game.
  • 6: The six points recorded by Finkelstein were good for a team-high and career-best for the Junior.
  • 31: The Seahawks recorded a program-best 31 caused turnovers in the game.
  • 35: Keiser outshot Ave Maria 35-24 on the day.
