No. 1 Keiser women's lacrosse defeated the No. 10 Georgetown Tigers on Thursday afternoon at the Multi-Purpose Field in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Keiser 5, Georgetown 2
- Replacing Madison Andrews in the starting lineup, Cameron Hanna netted the first goal of the game at the 13:50 mark.
- Talia Myers would find the back of the net between two Tigers goals to leave the game tied at 2-2 with 10:22 showing.
- Back-to-back goals by Rachel McLaughlin with assists by Sydney Passaro to put KU up 4-2 with 8:08 left in the first.
- With 56 seconds left in the quarter, Passaro found the back of the net to put Keiser up 5-2 going into the second.Â
Keiser 12, Georgetown 5
- The Tigers quickly scored two goals to begin the second quarter bringing the score to 5-4 still in favor of the Seahawks.
- Talia Myers picked up her first goal in the game before McLaughlin scored to make the score 7-4 with 8:00 minutes to play in the half.
- Following a Georgetown goal, Valeria Lomaglio netted her first of the day with 4:54 remaining.
- Lena Finkelstein scored her first, second, and third goals of the game before Lomaglio netted the final goal of the quarter with 37 seconds left to give the Seahawks a 12-5 lead going into the half.
Keiser 17, Georgetown 6
- GC would open the quarter with their sixth goal of the game just 38 seconds into the quarter.
- The Seahawks offense would erupt, going on a 5-0 run to end the third quarter with McLaughlin starting it and Melanie Brown ending it with 2:33 remaining.Â
- Keiser would head into the fourth with a 17-6 lead and a 30-21 advantage in shots.
Keiser 18, Georgetown 9
- Mac Miller would score her fourth goal for the Tigers to open the fourth quarter and reduce the KU advantage to 17-7.
- Finkelstein would respond two minutes later with her fourth of the game with 10:14 remaining.
- Georgetown would score the final two goals of the game but it would not be enough as Keiser went on to win, 18-9.
- 3: Myers caused three turnovers on the day to lead the team.
- 3: Passaro and McLaughlin tied for the team lead in assists with three each.
- 5/8: McLaughlin had her best day as a Seahawk, netting five goals and totaling eight points to tie the season best mark in each category.
- 5/8: Cassidy Green had five groundballs and eight saves on the afternoon to lead the team.
- 7: Haley Frew came up big in the circle, pulling in seven draw controls in the contest.
