No. 1 Keiser women's lacrosse held off a late run by the Running Eagles to pick up their fourth win of the season on Friday. 

First Quarter
Keiser 2, Life 2
  • Melanie Brown scored the opening goal of the match with 5:33 left in the first period.
  • The Running Eagles tied the game at one with 4:09 showing.
  • Madison Andrews netted her first of the afternoon with 3:23 to play in the first to put KU ahead 2-1.
  • Just 24 seconds before the end of the first, Life tied the match at 2-2.

Second Quarter
Keiser 6, Life 4
  • Life's Nicole Ortiz opened the second quarter with her second goal of the game to put LU up 3-2.
  • Leanza Gibaud sparked a three-goal run for the Seahawks beginning at the 9:13 mark and ending with a Rachel McLaughlin goal with 5:45 left in the quarter to put Keiser ahead, 5-3.
  • Following a Running Eagles score, McLaughlin tallied her second of the contest to put the Seahawks up 6-4 going into the half.

Third Quarter
Keiser 10, Life 5
  • Andrews and Valeria Lomaglio combined for back-to-back goals for Keiser to begin the second half.
  • 15 seconds after Life's first goal of the third quarter, Lena Finkelstein netter her first of the afternoon to put KU up 9-5 with 10 minutes left in the period.
  • Andrews tallied her fourth of the game from a free-position shot as the Seahawks headed to the fourth with a 10-5 lead. 
Fourth Quarter
Keiser 10, Life 9
  • Life would test the No. 1 Seahawks in the fourth quarter, scoring four times in the opening four minutes to cut the Keiser lead down to 10-9.
  • The Keiser defense would respond in time, causing six turnovers and allowing just one shot in the rest of the quarter.
  • With 49 seconds left in the contest, Hannah Reeder caused her fourth turnover of the game, giving possession back to the Seahawks and securing the 10-9 win.

  • 2: Sydney Passaro led Keiser in assists with two on the day.
  • 4: Andrews led the Seahawks in points and goals with four each.
