For the first time in program history, the No. 1 women's lacrosse team is headed to the NAIA National Championship after defeating No. 5 Lawrence Tech, 13-8, Friday afternoon in the NAIA Semifinals.

First Half
Keiser 8, Lawrence Tech 5
  • Keiser jumped on top first as Melanie Brown found a cutting Cat Raymond for the score at the 24:34 mark.
  • Talia Myers doubled Keiser's advantage with a free position goal but the Blue Devils fired back with consecutive scores to tie the game at 2-2 with 20:00 left in the half.
  • Madison Andrews answered for the Seahawks as the freshman reeled off three straight goals to push the lead to 5-2 with 9:28 remaining in the half.
  • The hat-trick was Andrews eighth of the season and third in as many games.
  • Back-to-back goals by Lawrence Tech trimmed the KU lead to one, 5-4, at the 4:17 mark.
  • The Seahawks netted three of the final four goals of the half to take an 8-5 lead into the break.

Second Half
Keiser 13, Lawrence Tech 8
  • Madalyn Huber found the back of the net 1:30 into the second half to up the KU lead to 9-5.
  • The Blue Devils got as close as two, 9-7, with consecutive goals as 15:03 remained in the contest.
  • Four unanswered goals by the Seahawks push their lead to the largest of the game, 13-7, as 7:07 showed on the clock.
  • During the run, Raymond collected her fifth hat-trick of the season.
  • Lawrence Tech tallied the final goal of the contest as Keiser led wire-to-wire, advancing to their first NAIA National Championship in program history.

  • 1: The Seahawks clinched a berth in the NAIA National Championship game for the first time in program history.
  • 2: Andrews and Brown dished out a game-high two assists in the win.
  • 3: Keiser improved to 3-2 all-time in the NAIA postseason.
