No. 6 Keiser University fell to No. 4 Missouri Valley in penalty kicks, 5-4 in the NAIA Quarterfinals on Thursday afternoon.
How it Happened
  • Keiser struck quickly in the eighth minute as Ciro Damine found the back of the net off a through ball from Lucas Jacobs.
  • Julius Fassbinder doubled the advantage in the 24th minute with a 23-yard free-kick.
  • The Seahawks nearly had a third goal in the 33rd minute but Jacob's shot from distance went off the post.
  • Missouri Valley broke through in the 39th minute on a header by Ruben Jimenez off a cross by Aleksander Trujic to get within 2-1.
  • The Vikings nabbed the tying goal in the 88th minute as Dos Santos scored off a through ball from Hashimoto.
  • MVU held a 5-1 advantage in shots during the two overtimes but Dario Salzar was up to the tasking, saving four that went on target.
  • Cristobal Molina and Alejandro Varela were successful before Salzar came up with a save as KU led 2-1.
  • Following a Jacobs goal and MVU tally, Damine's attempt to the right was saved as penalty kicks were tied at 3-3.
  • Julius Fassbinder and the Viking's taker were successful, moving the scoreline to 4-4.
  • Sebastian Espino's try was saved and then Missouri Valley scored, ending Keiser's season in the NAIA Quarterfinals.

  • The Seahawks are 0-2-1 all-time in the NAIA Quarterfinals.
  • Keiser last appeared in the quarterfinal round in 2014 against Texas Brownsville.
  • With their opening goal, KU set the program record for goals in a season with 69.
