Keiser women's lacrosse, the reigning NAIA National Champions, announced their 2022 schedule on Wednesday. The Seahawks have 15 games on their 2022 slate, including seven at the Keiser Multi-Purpose Field in West Palm Beach, Florida.
In 2021, the Seahawks capped off a perfect 16-0 season with their first NAIA National Championship after defeating University of the Cumberlands, 13-11.
The reigning Mid-South Conference Freshman of the Year,
Madison Andrews, returns to lead the Seahawks after a record-breaking campaign in 2021. The sophomore set program records for goals (43) and points (62) during her first season with Keiser.Â
The Seahawks also return two NAIA All-Americans in senior
Melanie Brown and sophomore
Rebecca Gibson. Brown led Keiser in assists during the 2021 season with 18 to go along with 38 goals and 59 points. On the defensive side, Gibson helped anchor a Keiser defense that allowed only 5.15 goals per game. The sophomore also added three goals, nine caused turnovers and scooped up 29 ground balls.
- Keiser opens their 2022 slate with a Mid-South Conference matchup at Webber International on Feb. 14 at 4:00 p.m.
- The Seahawks play host to Point University on March 1 for their 2022 home opener at 12:00 p.m.
- Keiser hosts the University of the Cumberlands on March 17 in a rematch of the MSC Conference Championship and NAIA National Championship. Start time is set for 2:00 p.m.
- The Seahawks close out the regular season with a home contest against Webber International on April 16 at 1:00 p.m.
- The MSC Tournament will be held in Williamsburg, Ky., April 21-23.
- The NAIA National Championship will take place in Southfield, Mich. and runs from May 4-7.
